Electrostatics :
The branch of engineering which deals with charges at rest is called Electrostatics
*The word Electrostatics means the electricity at rest
Electric Charge :
When a body has deficiency or excess of electrons from the normal due share then it is said to be charged or electrified
The body will acquired a positive or negative charge depends on the electrons removed or added
The charge on the electron is so small then it is not convenient to select it as the unit of charge
i.e
SI unit of charge is Coloumb abbrivated as 'C'
One Coloumb of charge is equal to the charge on 625×10^16 electrons
1 Coloumb = Charge on 625×10^16 electrons
-e= 1/(-625×10^16)
=-1.6×10^(-19)
Properties Of Electric Charge :
